Application for An Arbitrator
1. Requirements under Arbitration Law for appointment of an arbitrator:
Under Article 13 of the Arbitration Law of the People’s Republic of China, an arbitration commission shall appoint an arbitrator from those who are upright and fair.
An arbitrator shall satisfy one of the following:
1.1who has been engaged in arbitration for eight (8) years;
1.2who has been practicing law as a lawyer for eight (8) years;
1.3who had been a judge for eight (8) years;
1.4who is engaged in study and teaching of law with a senior technical title; or
1.5who is engaged in economy and trade activities, with background knowledge of law, a senior technical title, or equivalent expertise.
2.Practice Notes
To apply for be admitted as an arbitrator, kindly download the following table and submit to TAC the Application Form for Arbitrator via email or hardcopy of the same for post.
As arranged by TAC on appointment of arbitrators, TAC will, at such time as deemed fit, notify successful applicants of electronically transmitted photocopies of certifying documents and the one-inch photo with blue background.
